It is always nice to get away for a weekend. My getaway is going to my family's lake house on Lake Cumberland.
There is always a sense of peacefulness late at night after most people have gone to sleep. It is during this time that I go to one of my favorite places, the boat ramp. I have yet to find a more relaxing and wonderful place!
When you ride down to the ramp, turn off the lights and kick back, the view of the stars is beyond explanation. Complete darkness, except for the stars and sometimes the moon, and the gentle lapping of the lake on the shore combine for a surreal experience that isn't easily found in our busy day to day grind.
